Sleepy Boys

This morning I woke up early before the boys and I got some stuff ready for primary and picked up the house. I was in the living room and I could hear Owen cooing so I snuck down the hall to see what he was up to, I took these adorable pictures- Davey was sleeping right next to Owen and Owen was cooing while he played with Daddys hair :) So precious. I love my boys. I dont know what I would ever do without them!!!

And then he saw Mommy taking pictures and got excited, then I couldnt help but pick him up and love on him. He is such a sweety!!!

Owen loves to look at books, I pulled a bunch this morning for him to look at and play with and he had a blast! Until, it was nap time ;)

What a Wonderful World

The other day I was driving to work, ok it was weeks ago, it was like the first day you could walk outside without having to remember to put your parka on first. It was still chilly, but the sun was out and in my opinion those make the best kinds of days. Crispy air and a beautiful sky!

The sky was so blue, and there were so many fluffy white clouds, it was absolutely perfect!

Leftys

Dave and I both have some people in our families who are "leftys", Im not sure if this is something that runs in families or not BUT we have been thinking for a while that Owen is also a....LEFTY!
People who write with their left hand are supposedly smarter than people who write with their right hand, I wouldn't say that this is true in all cases but in our case it is 100% true! ;)_

6Month Doctor Check-up

Owen had his 6month check up yesterday.

He is still WAYY above average. :) He is so smart I love it!

The nurses and doctor could not believe how happy he is!

He got 4 vaccinations yesterday- He is so tough! He didnt cry right away, and then as soon as they were done I picked him up and he was smiling!

He was proud to show off his circus band-aids! 

He is in the 55% for weight

75% for head circumference- He has always had a big head

and 85%!! for height! (still! Wahhoooo!)

When You're a Mommy..

Being a mommy is the best thing in the whole world. It changes everything about you, in all the best possible ways. As amazing as it is, there are some ugly sides, and some gross sides, but no matter how ugly or gross it gets I still am crazy in love with my Baby Boy!

These are 15 TRUE things you are sure to have experience, and realized and if you're not yet a mommy, when the say come for you, you will also experience and realize these 15 things!

1. When you are a mommy you soon find that Zumiez was NOT made for strollers.
2. That 30 seconds of privacy you get in the bathroom are 30 seconds you CHERISH.. But all too often those 30 seconds are not all that private.. 
3. You know you are a mommy when you are covered in spit up and you DO NOT CARE.
4. Changing poopy diapers is not gross anymore, you even get excited when your baby gets their messy diaper of the day- It means their bodys are working flawlessly 
5. You soon learn that Hollywood Undead is in fact NOT mommy music..
6. Naps do not exist (most of the time)
7. A clean house is a thing of the past that you wish you took advantage of more often.
8. Your Husband is a baby too.
9. Peoples expectations dont change- You must now change diapers, give naps, give baths, feed, comfort, cook, walk the dog, shower yourself, clean the house, even get dressed. And that is ok! You are a woman you can do it, its 100% do-able, after the first few weeks, maybe even after a couple of months you will be master at it!
10. You will never sit in the passengers seat of a car. ever. again. At least in my case- and you know what? I do not mind it- I love sitting in back keepin the babe company.
11. You dont carry a purse around anymore- the giant diaper bag holds all the essentials. Diapers. Toys. Wipes. Food. Cards. Keys.
12. You will know all the nursery rhymes, and classical music that plays on their toys. 
13. If you get baby poop on you, you dont even think about it. Clean it up and continue with whatever it is your doing.
14. You pull boogers out of their noses and its not even a big deal.
15. You will never get to shower alone.

Being a mommy is a big job. A messy job. Its the most rewarding job you will ever have. Being paid is slobbery kisses and hugs, and sleepy babies is the best payment I have ever received :)
and if you are not a mommy...yet, believe it or not all of this is TRUE!

Athena the Dane, and Owen the Baby

I always say how Owen and Athena are best friends and love eachother soooo much well here is the truth- Athena loves Owen when it is convenient for her, he grabs her big ol' Dane lips, and her skin and pulls on them and pinches her every chance he gets, and I believe at those times she wishes we would send him back to where he came from :)
Sometimes when he wiggles over to her, or when I set him next to her she will be a brat and get up and move to a different place.
BUT she is soo good with him, she puts up with the pinches and the pulls and the screaming and the crying and she doesnt even mind to much when he sits on her back or between her front legs while she lays on the ground.
She is a good 'big sister' and always so so gentle!!

Pulin' Athena's hair!

 

 

I remember being so scared of  leaving Owen by Athena when we first brought him home, I thought Athena would accidently sit on him. But, she has been nothing but sweet, cautious, and gentle :) pphhewwwww!! :)

Owen 6 months!?

Can I just say I hate bloggers new dashboard lay out? yes, Because I do!
Well It has been a super long time since I have blogged. We are keeping really busy with this move coming up but I thought I would share any thing new that has happened with our Owen recently!

Owen turned 6 months last week!!! Holy cow! I have had this sweet boy for half of a year! To celebrate his half birthday he got a new Jordan Air hat and some super sweet Hurley Shorts! THey have strings in the front to tighten them if needed and Owen loves strings, he is such a brat if you try to take your hoodie strings from him so he was PUMPED (and so was I) to have his very own that he could have all day and no one would ever take them away, what a studly, studly man! I did a freakin good job cookin this one up!



Owen is a pro at drinking from a straw :) its so sweet. We hand him a juice box and he sucks the whole thing down! What a cutie! and what a freakin smarty!!




We decided that since he is old enough to drink from straws that he is old enough to feed himself something besides mum mumms, teething biscuits, and mesh teethers once in a while. Well he loves potatoes so I let him feed him self some mashed potatoes! He was so happy the whole time, and made a huge mess!! So he got to top the day off with a bath, this kid loves bathes. He never wants to get out so I often have to run him new/warmer bath water so he can stay in a little longer...until I make him get out ;)

We gave Owen a capri sun one time when we didnt have juice boxes and he got like a sugar high hahahah it was adorable, and I felt bad about giving him that much sugar. He took a sip and started to laugh and laugh, then he would take a sip and stop to laugh, repeat. When I took it from he he got so angry at me! What a stinker, and so now whenever Dave drinks them he wants them soooo bad so ill distract him so he doesn't get to angry ;)


Owen recently had the chicken pox! poor bebe, he didnt get them bad but it was still awful! at least it is over with :) The symptoms started showing up a week before but we didnt know what they were! So we had to go to the hospital for a little visit. Owen loved all the nurses, and of coarse they loved him. He is such a ladies man!!



Owen doesnt really crawl yet but he has done some big scoots!



Owen has pretty dang good balance, he loves when he gets to do his 'trick'. His trick is when Daddy lets him stand on his hand and holds him up in the air, Owen thinks it is so fun, and loves getting all the attention it brings from people hahah :)







Owen sits up on his own and its sooo cute ! :)


He loves his big sister Athena, they love each other so much. Its priceless.


Owen got to go on his first pony ride, I dont think he really cared either way if he got a ride or not but it was cute! :)





The last time we had Owen weighed, he weighed 19.9lbs, also the last time he was measured he measured 26 3/4inchs, he is in a size 4 diaper too, teething, he is just the sweetest baby I have ever met. He laughs so much and he squeels like crazy and is a big time talker!! He still gives the best kisses I have ever had!!!
