Happy Halloween!

This was Owens third Halloween and it was a good one! Grandma and Macie were here from Idaho and that was just the icing on the cake! Owen was skeleton this year, and last year, and the year before that..next year I plan on being more creative but if he doesn't care, maybe I won't either. Skeleton jammies...errr....costume.. will be like a Halloween tradition for us, even when he decides he wants to be something 'more cool'. I love my little boy! He had so much fun trick or treating, I loved taking him around to our neighbors. It seems like most of our neighbors gave out cellophane baggies full of goodies and toys. I thought I was creative and awesome for getting good treats but I had nothing on these guys! It rained a little bit but it was still plenty warm! Owen does't really like to eat candy and sweets(He totally got that from his dad and NOT his mom..), although he was so excited about having it and he still is enjoying getting all his candy out and organizing it and seeing what he has. He opened all his suckers on Halloween night and tasted them all and then was done and has not had any candy since...I'm glad because he really doesn't need it. I threw a bunch away but saved the really good stuff in case Dave, Brandon, or I really have the itching for a bar of sugar!

Check out the last 3 years of Halloweens...

Family and Florida

Ok, I know I have about a million things that need blogged about but, here is our latest adventure!

Last Saturday we packed the car up early and drove the 8 hours to Orlando, FL. This was my first time in Orlando, and my first time in Florida. period. Which is sad because we only live like 4 hours from the coast line on the panhandle.
We drove across Alabama, to the top of Georgia and then straight down to Orlando. We drove through Atlanta which was my first time being there unless you count airport visits...which I don't think count...
When we flew to Jamaica last year we passed through Atlanta and someone freaking took my phone. My crap, basic, 4 years old, 3 owners, phone. Anywhoooo, on with the story!
We stayed in a resort that is part of DisneyWorld, It was right on the boardwalk so that was really fun to be part of the action, and the hotel was super nice too! My dad, mom, and niece flew to Orlando that same day and we all stayed at The Dolphin together. We spent the rest of Saturday looking around the Hotel, Grounds, and Disney Boardwalk. We also ordered delivery pizza to our hotel and delivery cost like $20...
On Sunday we drove to Cocoa Beach and had such a good time! I am in love with the ocean no matter where it is. A beach bum made me a rose from palm tree leaves- I think he wanted money but he didn't ask, so I didn't offer.

We drove back to Orlando and spent the rest of the evening/night on the boardwalk and in downtown Disney. We could see the firework shows from Epcot and the Magic Kingdom from our hotel window, it was really fun. I could have stayed there for like a whole another month and still been sad about leaving. My mom and I woke up really early Monday and went to the pools, and walked on the boardwalk, then when we got back we woke everyone up and packed up the car. On the way back to Alabama we stopped off the road to get some fresh oranges! It is the beginning of the orange season and they were so delicious! We saw oranges growing on trees, bananas growing on trees, tangerines growing on trees and something else but I can't remember! Mom brain. We ate lunch at this little dump of a barbecue pit that had the best brisket ever. When I saw what a crappy place it was I had no doubt it had award winning brisket. Oh, it was so good!

My dad stayed in Orlando because he was there for work. Booo! But my mom and niece came back with us. We did so much while they were here and there is still so much I want to show them!! We went to some of the best discount stores in the world- Dirt cheap, Essex, Unclaimed Baggage Center, Catalog Return Center (yeah, those stores are exactly what they sound like..). We went to the Cathedral Caverns, I showed them some of my favorite abandoned buildings, NASA center, some delicious southern restaurants, showed them the country side, picked cotton out of a field, went to the drive through zoo, went to the local marina, spent some time in Nashville (but they were getting ready for the CMA's that are this week so a lot of the parks were closed off and setting stuff up).

This post could be like 10x longer, we did so much and had so much fun! This was also Owens first year going trick or treating and he loved it!! He was a skeleton...last year he was a skeleton...and the year before that he was a skeleton. I know, I know, pretty creative. Can you believe Owen has been around for THREE HALLOWEENS!? What an oldie.

Seriously, what a babe.

What is better than a 'bar bike'? Nothing like pedaling down the road and drinking a brewsky.

hahahah I LOVE when I see stuff like this! Nashville is such a party!
