Playing Catch-up

We have been keeping pretty busy here lately. We have been spending a lot of time going out with missionaries, Dave’s been working, and we are moving into a new house tomorrow. We have been fixing it up and cleaning it for over a week! Last month the apartment office said we would have to sign a new lease or pay a bunch extra every month and since we are only going to be living in Oklahoma til February we didn’t like either of those options very much, so I sent an email to my RS Pres that just asked if she by chance new of anyone who was leasing out a home for such a short period of time, I knew the chances were slim to NONE. We didn’t know but her and her husband buys and rent houses and they had just put offers on a few more, and that is why we have been working our hinnies off on cleaning this new place. They are going to be working on it while we are living in it so they gave us a really, really good deal! We are excited!!
This Monday David and Aaron are driving up to Alabama for a couple days; it’s also our THIRD YEAR anniversary on Monday, I cant believe it!! Owen and I will have to have a little celebration!
Next week we are flying home to Idaho for 4 whole weeks! I am so excited to see everyone and actually have time to see everyone! My sister is getting married the day we fly to Idaho and I am so nervous that something will go wrong with our flights and we will be late or miss it L I am the one marrying them so the wedding will not be much without me.. Oh, I love when things revolve around me, kidding, I’m quite nervous!!
Owen has been an out of control toddler lately. He just wants to do so much and do it all by himself, its bittersweet. When you ask him a question that he isn’t sure about he shrugs his shoulders and lifts his hands up like “I don’t know?!” It is so cute!
He loves to climb on EVERYTHING; his favorite is getting up on the table. It makes me so nervous. I most of the time have to stick the chairs on the table and I hate doing that too! Owen will lock the dishwasher, start it, unlock it, open the door, climb on the door, slid out the bottom basket, and then stick stuff in it/ pull stuff out. By the way, it’s NOT OK with me if he climbs on the table and dishwasher ;)
Owen watched Dave open a DVD case the other day and has been opening the DVD and PS3 cases all day today, the little things make me so proud.
Owen really loves to throw all his many balls but he especially loves his football and big green bouncy ball
A couple weeks ago we went to the Christmas tree lighting in Lawton, and they had a parade, and we walked through the park and looked at all the lights and I think Owen enjoyed it!
For Thanksgiving we went to the city and spent it with the Christensen’s, it was a great holiday! We (as in most everybody but I) played dodge ball and ate lots of pie, and deep fried turkey, and sweet potatoes! Yumm!!
The next day we headed back up to the city and spent the day at the zoo, all the big animals were out and running around and hanging out by the glass so we got a lot of great views! Every time we go to see the gorillas/chimpanzees/monkeys/orangutans, Owen gets a little nervous when they run up to the window to see us, it’s actually quite hilarious. After the zoo we went downtown to the Christmas tree lighting and walked around to see the lights and decorations, we went and saw the ice rink they open up in the myriad gardens, we went inside the new Devon Energy building, and rode the water taxis in brick town, we even got to see the fireworks from the water parade they had on the river! Kim and a few of her kids came and met us there, I love spending time with them, they are so great!

Halloween 2012

Gosh. We had such a fantastic Halloween Holiday. The Thursday before Halloween Kim and Aarons little girl that they have been waiting on was born, she has gorgeous little features and we sure love her a lot. Daves mom flew in to meet the new baby, Leah. It was so nice to see her ! We also just got some new neighbors, they happen to be 3 elders, so we had them for dinner, and they were pretty awesome. Saturday we went to the city to spend time with Daves family.
Look at that dark skin! So pretty!

Kim is going to have her hands full ;)

We went to Chesters party barn- they had a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, hay ride, pony ride, corn maize, and the worlds largest ant farm. They had some other games and activities that we didnt do. Owen really loved looking at all the animals and choosing a pumpkin! That night we went to haunt the zoo at the Oklahoma city zoo, it was pretty chilly but oh, so much fun!! Owen got a cute little bag to collect all his candies in and he got some pretty good stuff, his dad was glad ;)

Sunday we carved Owens pumpkin and it was so cute! He enjoyed gettin messy!
We stayed in for Halloween since we partied over the weekend, and Dave is the only one eating candy ;) I was really excited for trick-or-treaters but we only had ONE little girl the whole night. Darn it!! Last year when Owen was just a couple weeks old I did not want any trick-or-treaters so we had a Desperate Housewives marathon, and shut the porch light off, and I still had a trillions little kids knocking and ringing the door bell, and I ignored them! Halloween Karma?

Ant Farm

Checking for the right pumpkin

Owen LOVED the little ponies!

Some of these pictures turned out So grainy :(

A couple other good things:
We are trying to get into a house that is a few minutes down the road. We will live there until February when we make an even bigger move!

We had the missionaries over AGAIN, they always teach such great lessons, but boy they eat a lot!

We go to Idaho in 39 days! for 26 days, almost a whole month! Should be fun?

I learned how to make Toffee- is the most unhealthy thing you ever make.

AND I had a little girl time, while Owen and Dad spent the evening at home.

The election is almost over!! Woooo! Go ROMNEY!

Even if we sometimes have our struggles, life is pretty DARN good!
