9 Months Gone By

I know I talked a little, or maybe a lot about Owen and what he is up to now but I wanted to make a post just for his 9 month birthday!

I think 9 months is a huge accomplishment! I have kept him alive inside my body for 9 months and outside my body for 9 months. We were in Idaho for Owens 9 months birthday and David text me that morning and said "Owen is 9 months! He has been on the ground longer than in your belly!!" Yes, he has! I love that :) Thats my new favorite motto for 9 month birthdays :)

The day before Owens 9 month birthday my sister friend took some 9 month pictures for us just to be nice, she did a really pretty job!

Here are 25 of the things Owen was doing by the time he was 9 months:
Or if you already know them you can skip to the bottom... there are pictures!

  1. Owen loves to play with the toilet paper ( I try to keep the bathroom door shut but sometimes it doesnt get shut!)
  2. He loves to flush the toilet
  3. He loves to take 1+ bath(s) every. single. day.
  4. He loves opening up the cupboards and pullin things out! (my hair is GRAY!)
  5. He has taken a couple steps- nothing serious
  6. He loves to stand for as long as he can, which IS a long time
  7. He always wants to get into Athenas food and water table, when we see him crawl over we holler "Owen NO!" and he crawls even faster and laughs and sees how much water he can splash out before we can get to him.
  8. He still sleeps in bed with us....
  9. He sleeps through the night except for around 5 or 6 he needs a pacifier, and sometimes a bottle
  10. He is not a fan of baby food, he wants table food!
  11. He makes so many sounds its crazy! I love to hear him babble, growl, and laugh
  12. Whenever I tell him "Daddys home!" he crawls to the door as fast as he can laughing and giggling the whole way
  13. He loves to snuggle :)
  14. He loves playing outside (even thouhg its 1,000), and in the water/pool
  15. He has 3 teeth as of his 9 month birthday (but now he has 4!)
  16. He loves when he gets to go see dad at work
  17. He loves match box cars
  18. He always trys to chase the vacuum head when I get it out, he thinks its awesome when I pull the hose out and it sucks his clothes in!
  19. I love him having all these teeth and me not worryin about him choking on everything!
  20. He is so fascinated with the PS3, the controllers, and all the CD's and DVD's
  21. He loves to play with tiny things, this worries me a LOT but sometimes if he is being good ill put his pacifier in his mouth and ill get out the jar of marbles, or our change jar and he dumps it out and picks all the pieces up individually and then put them all away, I stay right next to him and make sure that pacifier stays in his mouth and that he is being careful, and he will share with me, and we (I) will count them, its one of my favorite activities with him!
  22. If Athena is chewing on a bone, or a toy Owen runs (crawls) over as fast as he can and lays on his tummy with his arms crossed in front of him and his knees bent, with his legs in the air, moving them up and down and he will watch her for a while, than take what ever she has. Im trying to teach him 'Athenas toys' and 'Owens toys', and not to take from her. Sometimes he does really good, other times not.
  23. No one in the house gets as many kisses as Athena! Owen loves to love on her so much!!
  24. Owen loves Davids salesguys, he thinks they are pretty great, and they think he is pretty great!
  25. Owen weighs 25 lbs! and He is in the 75% for height! Whewww! I have one huge baby!!

I know there are a lot of pictures here and a few are very similar but there are so many and so you are lucky I just picked 30 ..or however many I picked! He was such a ham the whole time (and any time a camera is out)!

He is the most handsome baby I have ever seen!!

Look at those cute look toothies!

I dont know what he is doing with his hands but so cute!

teeth :)

He is SO happy to be 9m!

I am in love.

Baby Steps Out the Front Door

Have you ever seen "What about Bob"? Its a real gem if I do say so myself. It has been a family favorite since....forever! Hence my title.

So speaking of BABY STEPS within the last month Owen has taken 4 steps. On 4 different occasions. The first 3 times he fell right after taking the step and so David doesn't think that that counts- so we haven't counted ANY of them- Oh, but you know im writing them down ;) Yesterday he took a single step but instead of falling he sat himself down. I see some real progress happening here! What a smartie pie!

Also my sweet boy cut tooth #3 while we were in Utah- it was a bottom tooth, so he has 3 on the bottom. How silly. I was so positive that he would have his top two teeth BEFORE we went on our trip but no, no, no!!! However! I am please to announce, that as of this morning, Owen cut another tooth! This time it being a top tooth! That makes almost a whole mouth full of teeth! (...ok not quite, but FOUR!? WOW!)  Its a sad thing when you wake up one morning and you no longer have a baby but an adult, I feel like im there now ;(

Some other exciting news: We got our passports last week! Whooooohoooo!

Another random story: I found this candle website called Diamond Candles and as soon as I 'LIKED' them on FaceBook my sister saw it and also fell in love and ordered one for her and one for me! How sweet! So when I went to Idaho she gave it to me, and as soon as I got home I started burning it every chance I got! They are made with really good soy wax so not only are they fun, smell good, have a surprise (better than the cracker jack box), they are actually good burning candles! and at a pretty decent price too!
Inside each candle, about 1/4 of the way down in the wax they have a ring inside worth 10$-5,000$ Its totally random.
I finally got my ring out (wrapped up in plastic and foil) and it was better than Christmas, or winning the lottery! Imagine the most exciting surprise. 10x more exciting. I almost want to use the word suspenseful but that doesn't quite fit in right.. anyway hopefully you have a little taste of how crazy the whole thing is!
My ring was a 10$ ring and thats ok! There is always next time ;) BUT it was probably not one I would ever wear, are you feelin me? I cant wait to get another! I will be ordering a hand full shortly, because you have a (not very good chance im sure) chance at winning some major diamonds David thinks its not such a bad thing. Its an investment really! ;)

Way better than mine!

I need to get some laundry done and that is a hectic process... I miss my washer and dryer and NOT having to leave me home to do it :) But oh, well it is what it is, and we all need clean laundry!

Profile Picture
Did I mention while I was at my moms I cut over 7 inches off my hair, and I still have some length. Yep. Crazy. I know.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY! The week is half over!!

Trip: Idaho: Final Post ;)

We had a good time on our little vacation, it was so nice to finally get home to Dave and Athena though!
We had a little family dinner and I was sad to see not everyone came but we still had fun!

Owen likes to play on the ground and move his legs up and down its the cutest thing!

Laura, Mom, and Carter

Josh enjoying Tangled

Owen really enjoyed jumping on Grandmas trampoline- he even fell asleep on it a couple times :)

Owen and Danielle

Owen enjoyed my moms new Great Dane- Abby. She was a cutie!

Owen had been eating something that left him rather messy. Instead of bathing him in my moms GIANT tub I just stuck him in the sink to wash him off. He really wanted some watermelon so I gave him a piece but it was to slippery/heavy, so he set it on his lap and just bent over when he wanted a bite, it was the silliest thing ever!

Look at that cute bottom!

Grandma got Owen his own little pool for us to bring back to Oklahoma with us since he love, love, loves the water! It is the perfect size and I only have to pour in about 4 gallons so its super easy to fill! We have a little back patio that we set it on here in Oklahoma, its perfect!
(Im not a fan of naked weenyy pictures, hence my hand ;)    )

The kids put the sprinkler on and got soaking wet on the slippery tramp in their jeans.
at one point Jack was standing on the metal frame and I said " OH MY GOSH JACK!!! Be careful!!" and to that the kids responded "Stop it! You're being such a mom!"
News flash kids: I am a mom! Little punks! ;)

This is my kitty Garf, He was so happy to see me :) I have had him for like 12 years, he is such a sweetie!!

Grandpa has this silly giant hat he wears outside and it was as big as Owen!

He thought it was so silly!

Abby watching Owen and Will play tug-o-war over their string

It is time to go back to Oklahoma!! Takin a walk around the zoo and through the park before we go!

We had to get an ice cream potatoe from West Side Drive inn!!  When David and I first got married we lived in this tiny little house just off of State in Boise, we were just a few blocks from down town- it was prime location! We used to come here and get ice cream :)

Vanilla ice cream covered in cocoa powder, whipped cream on top with a few nuts and oreos on a bed of chocolate sauce. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm  :) !

On our way home!!
Like I said a few times, Owen was a dream to fly with on our way to Utah, and I was hoping he would be just as nice for the trip home since I would be flying alone with him. Well... when we got to the airport around noon it took an hour to get our dang tickets, my bag was a couple pounds over weight but I figured I would pay the extra, I mean what could it be? 25$? 50$? Wrong, 100$ extra so I said no way and pulled out my purse and all my jeans and gave them to my mom to mail. Security wasn't hard but a little more tricky alone with a baby, Owen screamed about 2/3rd of the way to Denver than fell asleep. Our almost 3 hour layover turned into a 6 hour layover. Owen got a fever and was super grumpy. I had a huge diaper bag and stroller to lug around, Owen wanted held, but the bag was to big to fit on the stroller in anyway and I had just broke the zipper before we boarded our first flight so I had to be careful nothing fell out, the airport was packed, I was tired and want to go home! I missed my husband! We made it to OKC around midnight, Owen had fallen asleep on the plane and slept until Dave went to work the next morning, but when he woke up and saw his Daddy he smiled and laughed hysterically for like 10 minutes! It was so precious! But then he got his fever back and was sick all day :( poor little guy, it made it hard to get unpacked so we just stayed in jammies and snuggled most the day!

We had so much fun but im so glad to be home :)

Now its almost time to get ready for our next vacation! Less than a month until that one comes up! Im already being such a baby about leaving Owen for that one! Im such a mom right?! ;)
