Medicine Park

Lastnight Dave was training at the office in Oklahoma City so he just stayed the night up there, So that made it our first night in the new place with out dad! We did alright, Owen took a bath than we watched "Horton Hears a Who", and than watched part of "Ever After" before calling it a night and crawling in bed.
This morning when we woke up we showered and played and then got ready to go to Medicine Park. We spent a long time up there! We did a LOT of walking and finally we got to hot, and too tired so we headed back home, and now everyone is napping but me!

Medicine park is an old mining town by the Wichita Mountains, all the buildings are made from cobblestone and its really gorgeous!
Of coarse I did not grab the memory card for my camera so I was stuck using just my cell phone. We will definitely go back up so ill remember to take my memory card than ;) I wish this place was not so far from Idaho so I could share it with everyone in more ways than just pictures! While we were up there we met a guy from Idaho, He saw our Idaho plates on our car and had to come meet us. We did not talk to long and he had not been to Idaho in years but it was nice to talk to someone from home.

On almost every rock that a duck/goose was laying on there was also a turtle! I love all these dang turtles!

Athenas goal was to make it in EVERY picture

There were tons of HUGE fish!

You could walk anywhere and explore everything!

Cobblestone curbing ;)

You are allowed to swim and fish where ever you want (almost) It is so neat!

Old cobblestone home

This weekend (and every Memorial weekend) they are having the Mayors Red Dirt Ball, it looks like its a pretty fun deal and I hope we will make it up there this weekend to see what all the excitement for this 'ball' is all about! (and to take Dave!)

We had an awesome Wednesday so far, and tonight when Dave decides to get home will be the icing on the cake :)  Happy Hump Day!

Our Trip to Texas

Today I was so excited to go to church, Last night I laid out everyone's church clothes and made sure they were ironed so that it would not be hectic this morning. Church is at 11:30 and we got there about 11:20. The parkinglot was FULL! There were cars parked all up and down the road and I thought WOW, big ward? I found it strange that there was no one arriving for church so I thought maybe church actually was at 11.
Well, it was stake conference and it was almost over :( So instead we went home, changed, packed a cooler, grabbed the dog and headed to Texas! Saying we went to Texas I think sounds cool but since its 40min away its alot like (people at home in ID) heading to Ontario and saying your going to Oregon! Anyway, we wanted to go to Wichita Falls, and see the falls. Wichita Falls (what we saw of it) is very trashy, we were honestly scared! ;) We love adventure though, so of coarse we had to keep driving around. We finally found the park that has the falls but we didnt bring a stroller or carrier and didnt want to hike a mile with Owen. So instead we stayed close to the car and had just as much fun! We met some great people, and saw some pretty sites! It was not the adventure we set out for but it was way more fun than we thought it could be ! :)

Crossing the George W. Bush Bridge

Bacon Switch Rd, Dave thought that was a great name ;)

Wichita Falls was completely empty, there was no one around! It reminded me of "The Crazies" ! Scary!

WF

Lilly Pads at the park

The Lilly pads were HUGE!! Some of them were a couple feet across!

This park was FULL of pecan trees... I will definitely go back when they are dropping!

The Crane we saw.. ON the grass to the right

I thought the stump and roots of the trees were really cool looking!

My dang camera wasnt charged so I didnt get many pictures! Dangitt!!

Our Drive to Oklahoma

Our 24 hour 35 hour drive :)

Well, we made it! Still have some unpacking to do but almost done! Our new place is smaller than our home in Idaho but I kinda love it ;) I expected something HORRIBLE but, its not at all! We live in a good part of town, and thats all we cared about, so we're lucky that its a nice place too!

The drive is supposed to take about 24 hours if you drive straight there, it took us about 35 hours. We drove straight through,Wow. WE were so ready to finally make it!! THe weather was great besides some wind in Wyoming( totally expected) and some awful fog in Colorado that lasted about 40 miles, we could not see any farther that to the line on our lane- it was really scary! Owen was pretty great about the whole thing, he seems to have adjusted to the move, new place, and time change fairly well, same with Athena! Owen is really getting his crawl on! He is soo close! Im so glad I get to stay at home with him and see EVERYTHING. I miss Idaho and our families and friends but im enjoying it here.

Packin' up!
